To prepare the brownies:
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
To prepare the cream cheese:
8 ounces soft cream cheese
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
directions:
Preheat oven to 175°C and grease 9" x 13" pan.
In saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and allow it to cool slightly.
In bowl, whisking sugar and egg until well blended. Add the melted butter and mix until well blend
In bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and mix until just combined.
Add orange zest, vanilla extract and orange juice until well blended.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes
Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
To make cream cheese, in a large bowl, whisking cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing well until well blended.
Spread frosting over cooled brownies also refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving.
